About natural travertine
The shade is hand-carved from natural travertine. Open pores, surface pitting, and color banding vary piece to piece — these are core characteristics of the stone, not defects or damage. The depth and spacing of the carved ribs also vary slightly between pieces.
About the walnut wood
The backplate, shade holder, and tail ball are real walnut wood — grain pattern and tone vary by piece, and the photograph shows a representative sample.

Is this the wall version of the ribbed travertine pendant?
Yes — it uses the same horizontal-ribbed travertine shade as the Ribbed Travertine Pendant, but as a hardwired wall sconce: a black arc arm sweeps the shade off the wall, a turned walnut ball balances the tail, and a round walnut backplate covers the junction box. Choose the pendant to hang over a table or island; choose this arc sconce for a wall beside a bed, sofa, or hallway.
The travertine has holes and pits — is that a defect?
No — those are natural to travertine. Open pores, surface pitting, and color banding are core characteristics of the stone, not flaws or shipping damage. The shade is hand-carved, so no two are exactly alike, and the rib depth and spacing vary slightly between pieces — that variation is the point of a natural-stone fixture.
What bulb does it use, is it included, and is it dimmable?
One E27 bulb (standard medium base), included. A 2700K warm-white E27 LED gives the warmest glow through the ribbed stone. Dimmable when paired with a dimmable E27 bulb and a compatible wall dimmer (sold separately).
Does the tail ball do anything, or is it decorative?
It's both. The turned walnut ball visually balances the arc arm and gives the sconce its signature counter-weight look, while keeping the composition grounded. It doesn't move or adjust — the arm is fixed once mounted.
Can I install it in a bathroom, and what's the warranty?
Only away from water — it's rated IP20 for indoor dry locations, so keep it clear of shower or tub spray. Travertine is porous and the walnut parts are real wood; both absorb moisture. 2-year warranty on the fixture and wiring; E27 bulbs are standard replaceable parts.
