- Free-standing — place on a flat stable surface and plug into a standard wall outlet.
- Bulb access: the glass body lifts off the base for bulb installation. Lift gently — glass is delicate.
- Frosted glass surface: wipe with a dry microfiber cloth. Avoid harsh cleaners which can leave residue on the matte finish.
Which character should I choose?
Owl (9.5″ wide × 8.3″ tall): the widest, squat profile. Suits bookshelves, low side tables, and rooms where you want a horizontal presence. Rabbit (8.3″ × 10.6″): medium upright with ear accents — popular for nurseries, kids' bedsides, and reading nooks. Penguin (7.9″ × 13″): the tallest and slimmest — suits office desks, consoles, and mantels.
Is the body real glass?
Yes — frosted white glass body with metal/aluminum hardware and gold-finished accents (eyes, ears, wings, base ring). Real glass diffuses light more evenly than plastic, and the frosted finish softens the bulb's brightness into an ambient glow.
What bulb should I use? How bright?
G9 base, LED or Edison. A 3–4W G9 LED in 2700K warm white is the right brightness for a bedside or accent (~300–400 lumens through the frosted glass). For nurseries, choose the lower wattage for a soft night-light effect. Avoid cool-white bulbs — they reduce the warm storybook quality.
Is it safe for kids' rooms?
The fixture itself uses a low-voltage LED-compatible bulb and a low-wattage circuit, so the glass body stays cool to touch with LED bulbs (avoid hot Edison bulbs near kids). However, the body is real glass — not shatterproof — so place out of reach for very young children or in a spot where it won't be knocked over. Always supervise.
How do I clean the glass and gold accents?
Glass: dry microfiber cloth for dusting; for grime, lightly damp cloth with mild glass cleaner — wring out well, frosted glass can show water marks. Gold accents: dry cloth only — the polished finish is plated, so avoid abrasive cleaners which can scratch through the plating. If accents tarnish over time, light brass polish on a soft cloth restores shine.
