The bulb sits at the joint between base and shade, lighting the inside of the glass for a soft ambient glow. Scandinavian minimalist silhouette. 7.9″ diameter × 11.8″ tall. Which glass color should I pick?
Clear — brightest, most transparent, shows the bulb directly; best for reading or task corners. Gray — softer than clear, neutral mood, blends with any decor. Amber — warmest tone, evening atmosphere, pairs with walnut and leather. Smoke gray — moodiest, most dramatic, partially obscures the bulb for a silhouette-only glow. The concrete base reads the same natural gray in all four — only the upper glass shifts.
What bulb does it use?
E26 (NA/CA) or E27 (EU/AU) socket. Use a 2700K warm-white LED bulb, ≤9W (60W incandescent equivalent). Globe-shaped G45 or G80 LEDs sit cleanly inside the shade; standard A19 LEDs work but show their shape through clear glass. Avoid frosted bulbs with the clear/amber shade (defeats the transparent look).
How heavy / stable is the concrete base?
Hand-cast concrete is significantly heavier than ceramic or composite alternatives — the base alone weighs more than the glass shade above, anchoring the lamp securely on any flat surface. The concrete is sealed against minor moisture (spills wipe clean) but should not be submerged or pressure-washed.
Is it dimmable?
The fixture has only on/off via the inline cord switch. To dim, pair with a dimmable LED bulb and a smart plug (Lutron Caséta or TP-Link Kasa) — the bulb dims through the app or schedule.
What's the warranty?
2-year warranty on the fixture, concrete base, socket, and wiring. The mouth-blown glass shade is included under warranty for broken-on-arrival replacement (email info@vakkerlighting.com with photos within 7 days of delivery). Replacement glass shades stocked 3 years after order as paid-service parts.
