A matte black stainless steel arch handle rises in a clean arc over a rounded-cylinder shade of white polyethylene — the same durable material used in outdoor furniture and marine equipment for its UV stability and resistance to temperature swings. The integrated LED module inside the PE shade produces an even, glare-free glow across the full shade surface rather than a directional point of light. A solar cell on the base charges an internal 3.2V battery throughout the day; a touch switch on the front of the base steps through three colour temperatures and connects to an optional remote dimmer. IP65 rated throughout — the lamp moves freely between a garden table, a patio, a campsite, or a covered walkway without weatherproofing concerns. Available in two heights: 45 cm and 55 cm.

How long does the battery last on a full solar charge?
Runtime depends on the brightness level selected. At 3000K warm white — typically the lowest brightness mode — expect longer runtime than at 6000K daylight, which draws more power from the integrated LED. A full day of direct, unshaded sunlight is needed for a full charge. In practice, placing the lamp outdoors during daylight hours and using it at 3000K for three to five hours in the evening is a reliable daily cycle. Partial shade during charging will reduce the available runtime proportionally.
Can I use it indoors as well as outdoors?
Yes. IP65 rated for outdoor use means rain and moisture are not a concern, but the Dawntrail works equally well on a dining table, a bookshelf, or a bathroom counter indoors. Because it is solar-charged rather than plugged in, it can be placed anywhere without cord management. Just move it outdoors periodically to recharge — a windowsill with direct sunlight works if a fully outdoor position is not possible, though charging will be slower through glass.
How does the touch switch work, and what does the remote dimmer add?
The touch switch on the base steps through the three CCT modes in sequence — 3000K → 4500K → 6000K — and a further press turns the lamp off. This covers colour temperature selection but does not control brightness within each mode. The optional remote dimmer (not included) adds wireless brightness adjustment, letting you dim the lamp within the active CCT mode without approaching the base. This is particularly useful when the lamp is placed on the ground or at a distance from your seating position.
Which size should I choose — 45 cm or 55 cm?
The 45 cm version (∅ 20 cm) works well as a tabletop lantern on a garden or bistro table — it sits at a comfortable height for conversation without blocking sightlines across the table. It is also the easier of the two to carry as a handheld lantern on a walk or to a campsite. The 55 cm version (∅ 24 cm) is better suited as a freestanding floor lantern beside a chair or along a garden path, where extra height and a broader shade area produce a wider, more ambient spread of light. Is the PE shade durable outdoors — will it yellow or crack over time?
The shade is made from UV-stabilised polyethylene, a material commonly used in outdoor furniture, garden containers, and marine equipment precisely because it resists UV degradation, temperature cycling, and moisture. Unlike standard polypropylene or polystyrene, UV-stabilised PE does not yellow or become brittle from sun exposure under normal outdoor use.
