A brass and crystal wall sconce machined from solid brass with a hand-carved lead crystal shade. Compact 4.7″ × 8.7″ profile fits bathroom vanities, narrow hallways, bedside walls, and powder rooms. - Hardwired wall mount — junction box required; a licensed electrician is recommended.
- Mounting height: 60–66″ from the floor for hallway, vanity, and entryway; 30–36″ above mattress for bedside.
- The crystal shade is delicate — handle by the brass body during install, never grip the shade.
- Brass is a living finish: light surface variation and gradual patina deepening over time are inherent, not defects.
Does the Chatelet Sconce support dimming?
The sconce body has a push-button on/off switch — not a built-in dimmer. Dimming comes from the bulb: pair a dimmable E14 LED or Edison candle bulb with a compatible wall dimmer for smooth control.
Is the crystal real lead crystal?
Yes — hand-carved lead crystal, then hand-polished. Real lead crystal has more refractive depth than standard glass, which is why the faceted surfaces sparkle so visibly. Subtle variation in facet placement is normal for hand-carved work.
What bulb should I use?
E14 base, max 15W. We recommend a 4W E14 LED at 2700K warm white in a clear candle or globe shape — cool-white (4000K+) washes out the brass tone.
Where should I mount the sconce?
Hallways and entryways: centered at 60–66″ from the floor. Bathroom vanities: on either side of the mirror at 60–66″ from the floor. Bedside: 30–36″ above mattress height so light falls on reading material.
How do I clean the crystal and the brass?
Crystal: dry microfiber cloth only — wet cleaners leave streaks on facets. Brass: soft dry cloth; the aged patina is intentional and harsh polishes will strip it. For deeper care or finish-restoration help, email us a photo and we'll guide you on a brass-safe cleaner.
