The Akari A undergoes a meticulous hand-bonding process using mulberry paper and glue. Minor traces of glue along the lampshade edge are a normal characteristic of this handcrafted process — not a quality issue. Each lamp carries the unique marks of the hand that made it.
Two listings — only the cord color differs
The Akari A is available in two separate listings. The only difference is the power cord color — black cord or white cord. All other specifications, sizes, and materials are identical. Choose the cord color that best suits your ceiling and walls.

Plug-in swag — 180" (457 cm) cord, no wiring required
The Akari A is a swag lamp — it comes with a generous 180-inch plug-in cord and an inline on/off push button switch. Hang from the ceiling using a swag hook, drape the cord decoratively, and plug into a standard wall outlet. No electrician required.
E26 or E27 base — bulb not included
Uses a standard E26 or E27 base. A low-wattage warm LED globe (2700K) is recommended — the paper shade glows beautifully and preserves the material. Avoid high-wattage bulbs that may generate excess heat near the paper. Bulbs not included.

Minor glue traces along the edge are a normal characteristic of the hand-bonding process used to craft this mulberry paper lantern. They do not indicate a defect or quality issue.
What is the difference between the two listings?
Only the cord color differs — black cord or white cord. All other specifications, sizes, and materials are identical. Choose based on what best suits your ceiling and wall color.
Is this lamp hardwired or plug-in?
Plug-in. The lamp comes with a 180" (457 cm) cord and an inline on/off push button switch. Hang from the ceiling with a swag hook and plug into a standard wall outlet — no electrician needed.
