How do I pick body and shade colors?
Body (and cable) comes in White or Black. Shade comes in Caramel (warm orange-brown, shown) or Adzuki (deep red-brown bean color). Popular pairings: White body + Caramel shade for a soft 70s Scandinavian look; Black body + Adzuki shade for a bolder retro feel. Mix any combination at order — all 4 combos are available.
How does the retractable cable work?
The cable is a coiled elastic spring — when at rest it sits at about 43.3″ from the ceiling. Pull the shade down toward you and it extends; release and it retracts back. There's a small handle on the bottom rim of the shade for easy grip. The cable does not lock — height is held by tension, so it returns to rest position once released.
What bulb should I use?
E26 (US/CA) or E27 (EU/AU) base. A 6–8W LED in 2700K warm white gives the classic retro glow. Use a clear or amber Edison-style bulb for the most authentic mid-century look. Max wattage is rated by your dimmer/circuit; the fixture itself accepts standard bulbs.
Where should I hang the Agnes pendant?
Best for kitchen islands and counters (single pendant centered, or 2–3 in a row over a long island), breakfast bars, dining nooks, and home offices over a desk. Hang 30–36″ above the work surface. The retractable cable makes it especially good for reading or task light over a desk where you may want to pull it closer.
How do I clean the metal shade?
Use a dry microfiber cloth for regular dusting. For grease or grime (common in kitchens), a slightly damp cloth with mild soap is fine — wipe dry afterward. Avoid abrasive cleaners which can scratch the powder-coated finish. The Caramel and Adzuki finishes are baked, so they're durable, but harsh chemicals can dull them.
